Keepin' It Fresh [avoiding musty laundry]

Have you ever grabbed what you thought was a freshly laundered towel when you step out of the shower, only to find it smelled like it needed washing?
I couldn't figure out why in the world my towels were starting to smell musty... the day AFTER I washed them!
It was driving me crazy.  But never fear - there's a solution.

The Blues Make Me Happy [Vintage Find]

Yep, I've got the blues.
But I'm so totally happy about it :) 

 My guest room isn't anywhere near completion.
Not even close.

BUT,  I have this little gem sitting in there that I've had for weeks now,
and I can't not show you.

Easy Picture Hanging [Hardware]

I'm all about easy.
And fast.
And a lot of times, hanging frames or art on the walls is neither of those things.
First, whatever you're hanging is heavy so you have to find a stud to hang it in...
..and then the stud is in a wonky place that doesn't look right.
So then you have to use those stupid plastic wall anchors that I always seem to end up destroying.
So frustrating.

I love having plants around the house, but I'm not super at keeping them alive.
AND, it can get rather pricey replacing them time and again.

Mr. V. is a superstar when it comes to helping out around the house.
He does kitchen floors, he vacuums, he'll do the dishwasher and he also does laundry.  I know I'm lucky to be able to share these duties.

But sometimes I have to remind myself that I'm lucky in this regard, because there are some things I like done a certain way, and sometimes Mr. V. does things a different way.
Making up the bed after washing the sheets is one of those things.
I am ALWAYS grateful he does it.
But he does it wrong. ;)

Look Ma, No Paint! [Master Bedroom Makeover]



Up until now, every room redo I've ever done has involved an updated - or sometimes first - coat of paint.  Walls, furniture, frames... SOMETHING was always painted.
And I stand by my belief that paint is the easiest and often most cost-effective way to make a big impact in a room.
Today, though, I have a room update that I didn't even realize until I finished - is entirely paint-free!
